Bootlicker

Bootlicker is about 30 minutes away from downtown Boulder.

Bootlicker is a few miles just north of Nederland

GPS Coordinates

  • Latitude: N/A
  • Longitude: N/A

Bootlicker is on the western end of Switzerland trail area along Peak to Peak highway just north of Nederland. There's varying terrain including some marshy areas. Most trails are rugged and therefore a high clearance vehicle is recommended. However, such a vehicle is not necessary if the game is held in the vicinity of the entrance behind the first campsite (games are usually hosted at the entrance).

Maps available
Red arrows denotes Bootlicker parking on the maps below.
NOTE: Light green shading is national forest. Private land is dark green shading.

Links to this area

From Boulder

  1. From Boulder take Canyon Blvd west into the Rockies to Nederland.
  2. Once you've reached the round-about in Nederland take the Peak to Peak road North (72 Hwy north) to mile marker 37.5 (there really isn't a marker here so you'll have to estimate between 38 and 37).
  3. The entrance to the area is to the right and the only sort of distinguishable markings is a brown/white sign that says something like 'Do not Litter', a small forest service trail marker #226, and another sign relating to forest service area just behind.
  4. Drive into this area and you'll see a forest service bulletin board approximately 200 feet from the main road. Park behind this sign which is actually a campsite (remember the 150 yard rule includes camp sites).
